Do you remember that little "poster" that came with SBS 2003 - do you want to make it better? We want your feedback on the SBS Quick Start Poster

I saw this over on the SBS Documentation blog - please give generously to make it better in the future!!

Using the SBS Quick Start Poster

We've entered the planning phase for the next batch of Windows SBS product releases, and we're interested in hearing from those of you who have unfolded and presumably used the "Quick Start" poster that came in the box with the SBS discs.

Most importantly, do you find the poster useful?  Does it contain information that is helpful to you? Do you use the worksheets in the poster to help collect information about your Internet connection? Where is the poster now? Back in the box? Hanging on the wall? (It does add a big splash of color to a cubicle or drab IT office.)

We want to know what you think! Submit your comment or send us your feedback in e-mail. Either way, we want to hear from you!

You might be asking the wrong audience here. As people who make money from installing SBS, maybe we don't want you to make it any easier for potential customers to avoid using our services.

I'd rather see a leaflet inside the SBS box containing the SBSC "blue badge" logo, explaining what a small business specialist is and how to contact one.

Dave Overton recently blogged that we can send feedback to Microsoft on improving the 'Quick Start' poster

Tim,

I understand where you are coming from, and yes, it is worth getting feedback into the guys that a push to use a SBSC partner would be a great message to have at the top, but bearing in mind that SBS goes to 75 CALs, some organisations have their own IT staff, and we can't ignore them, but give them some recommendations on how to set the system up.

Hi Dave I have to agree with Tim here on this one. The number of clients and potential clients that we visit that have got into a terible mess installing SBS themselves or have got their son or friend 'who knows about IT' to install it. This creates a bad image for IT in general, but mainly for Microsoft as when the system fails or does not work correctly the client blames 'Microsoft software' Most other professions are continually trying to discourage clients to tinker, you do not see Ford encouraging its customers to do their 24,000 mile service. With the issue of 75 cals and that some organisations will have their own IT staff, I agree, but in these organisations the IT staff will have been on the Microsoft training anyway and as a Certified Partner, I would hope that they would call on the services of the partner network to help them if needed.
