Yes, my SBS 2003 Prem (without ISA installed) box was fully up to date up to SP1 and all essential patches. After I installed the Exch SP2 (which is a pre-requisite for the vista OWA hot fix) everything was ok, then I patched with the KB and then all of my IIS sites were wiped out and replaced with some strange garbled folders which were all identical and were useless.
I was quite frustrated and did not take a screen shot. Since the image worked a treat to restore my server, I will try again this weekend and this time make notes and screen shots if I am again unsuccessful.

I really like Vista (RC1), and I need OWA (or OL2007 via HTTP) - however at the moment since going to Vista, I have had use RDP back to the server to get email.

I truly believe that patches work. However, to help the many customers out there (who are simply trying to use the upgraded features etc), I think that when a hot fix or patch like this is released, then MS patch people should build into the installer, a diagnostic which identifies which pre-requisites are required - I know it stops and advises us of Exch SP2 but obviously there must be other pre-requisites or "assumed" parts missing otherwise it would have worked?

Um, not so impressed anymore :-(

The KB hotfix is only for Exch SP2 which I did not have. When I installed the SP2 it fried my box and made OWA die. (even at the server - completly destroyed my IIS sites !)

I restored from the image I made before installing SP2 and will try again, so be warned...

Has anyone else had success?

Regards

Andrew

Using OWA – you’ll need to install the hotfix for KB article 911829 on the SBS server<div style="clear:both;"></div><img src="http://192.168.2.20/aggbug.aspx?PostID=1928" width="1" height="1">

re: Running Vista RC1 on SBS 2003

Works a treat :-)
