I purchased the Office 2007 Upgrade. I was helped by Microsoft Support to install the Upgrade. They emailed another version telling me the one I purchased would not work. I have NEVER been able to use email. I must go onto the Internet to send/receive mail. Microsoft Publisher is my primary program which I use for a newsletter. It constantly crashes and is now telling me that it has "failed" losing 4 days of work and no ability to open the original file or the backup. I am not a "technical" person I am a desktop publisher. Any help would be appreciated.

The built-in Windows Firewall is perfectly adequate and is less intrusive than most other products. I like the "strong but silent" approach of the Microsoft solution. Windows Firewall never broke any of my apps, either.

The error you are seeing is when something is trying to add a custom shortcut to the menu - See support.microsoft.com/.../171025. However Microsoft should not be doing this, so when you say "Prestine", does this include ANY utilities, from the hardware vendor or anti-malware vendors? What about the ASAP utilities?

Either way, please update with a comment or an e-mail (admin@uksbsguy.com) as to progress or the need for more diagnostics.

thanks
