I can today tell you a bit more about Cougar, as was, or SBS 2008 as it will be, the new "family" that SBS is part of and a bit more on Windows Essential Business Server 2008 (aka Centro).
a complex area and definitely nothing concrete yet, however when asked the great guys and gals on the product team came back with "We are always looking at ways that we can provide compelling value for customers and we will provide details on pricing in the future". This is no promise, but it is better than a blank statement. They are working hard on concepts like this.

thanks

We have (just - December) moved out of the SBS2K3 Premium via transition pack to the full enterprise produts at a cost of £4K + for 85 CALs, as we couldn't wait for WES. However we will miss the ease of admin that the tightly integrated SBS products gave us, + RWW, etc..

Any idea where we will stand in terms of perhaps moving back into this product group? It is a no go if we need to write off that investment, but if they are transferable it may be doable...

Thanks

Alistair

My initial question is, since this is all under the same family will we be able to move up the products as the client grows

E.g

If an company starts with SBS 2008 standard, grows a bit, adds premium server for the SQL capability, grows a bit more and decides they need EBS. Will they be able to scale up? or is this a transition/migration job
