Once the internet settings are completed, the next big steps is setting up the internet facing services.
the MX record should be a DNS name that is associated with your site. Since I have remote.davidovertonassoc.com registered, there is no harm in using that. If you also have mail. registered or a *. domain name registered then this will work too.

If you look at mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx you will see that the MX record for davidovertonassoc.com points to remote.davidovertonassoc.com as both names are registered.

Thanks

David

Is it remote.davidovertonassoc.com which is what the wizzard seems to create and fill in the send connector FQDN box as found in the Organization Config Hub Transport Send Connector.

What if I am managing my domain and I already had an MX record of mail.davidovertonassoc.com

The logic seems to have changed from 2003 which used mail.domain.com for the MX and remote.domain.com for the remote website.

I'm having issues and would like to be sure I follow the new intent from SBS
