It doesn't work for Windows 7 Home edition, maybe that's why it doesn't work? Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7 can be installed on computers that are running the Enterprise, Professional, or Ultimate editions of Windows 7.

I ran into the access denied error as well on a fresh win 7 pro install. found this solution:

First try to access the computer like start, run, \\servername\c$ and use administrator credentials... that will open an connection and give you the administrator rights. Then check Hyper-V Manager.

x64 version works great with win7 x64

I would double check the settings. I used this on my x64 version of Windows 7.

Nah. Doesn't work on x6x version on 64bit Windows 7.

All I get on the Hyper-V manager is 'Access denied. Unable to establish communication between x and x"

If you download the amdx64 version it should work on your 64-bit system.
