&lt;p&gt;I have recently purchase a new server with upgraded specs than our previous server which is also SBS2008. i would like to migrate data from one server to the other both running SBS 2008. i have installed the migration tool the source server do i have to install it on the destination server too?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Yes, I figured it out, and plugged the cable right I think :-). But it did not work and had to roll back.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I happen to have sbs 2003 preminum + ISA I found out this way ... So now I first have to uninstall ISA.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;You need to remove one cable and disable or remove one of the NICs. &amp;nbsp;Basically your SBS goes from:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; - being plugged into your internet router / modem and the other into the lan router&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;to:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; - the router / cable modem being plugged into a firewall (or including the firewall and then plugging into the lan router and the SBS also plugs into the lan router.&lt;/p&gt;
