If you are a Microsoft partner and this is for your internal deployment then yes you can use the MAPS key to activate.

The subject says it all really: Can I use my MAPS key to activate SBS 2008 trial/evaluation ?

If not, then what would be the best (not necessarily easiest) way to reinstall. e.g. Would: backup>clean install>restore work?
