configuration office 2007

Yesterday, I installed Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2007.

Everything is running well for general fonctions except for all office programs.

The facts.

Either for Access, Excel, Word and all other office 2007 programs, if I wish to open any one of these programs after clicked on them, a square appears teling; configuration of Office 2007 is setting up; wait till to end. Then we see a progressive toolbar etc. It takes 2-3 min. for setting all.

After that, the program opens then I can work on it.

But also, all my documents & files I already saved before the yesterday installation, make the same thing when I click on each one i.e. the same toolbar appears etc... and I have to wait the finished installation before the doc. open...

Before instaling office 2007, I have office 2003. Is it possible that some fonctions of 2003 version are still in action and that affect the 2007 version?

Please your details and suggestions for repairing that. Thanks in advance.

Hier, j'ai installé Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2007.

Tout va bien pour le fonctionnement de l'ensemble des foctions sauf pour les programmes d'office.

Voici.

Que ce soit pour Access, Excel, Word et tous les autres programmes, Si je désire ouvrir un de ceux-ci, après avoir cliqué dessus, un rectangle m'apparait me disant:

configuration en cours d'Office 2007 et là je vois la barre de progression signalant que le programme s'installe qui prends ± 1-2 min. pour ce faire.

Par la suite le programme s'ouvre et je peux travailler dessus.

Mais aussi, mes fichiers et doc. déjà enregistrés, avant de l'installation d'hier, font la même chose lorsque j'ouvre un de ceux-ci.

C'est forcément dans la configuration et surtout juste une case à cocher pour rétablir car une fois ouverts ces programmes fonctionnement bien.

Pouvez-vous me guider pour réparer cet inconvénient.

Inactivity lockout in client XP pc's not working!

In our sbs 2003 domain environment, the clients' pc's inactive for default period will be locked out automatically and only Ctrl+ Alt + Del & client password combination will unlock the client's pcs.

Recently around 9 months before, all our client's pc's joined the new sbs 2011 but (usually all are locking with Win+L key combination manually)the auto lock feature is not working from the beginning onwards. Now only I am brought up with this issue by clients.

Please help me set that option!

MS email database stolen?

Not really anywhere to put this comment within any forum, but I thought I would pass this on. (Now I know your going to say this is highly unlikely to happen...but...)

As a single person in my company I have the pleasure of making up any old email address as I please. In order to track who is selling email accounts to spammers I often use an email address related to the company that im dealing with.

Recently however I am getting spam from an email address I soley use for Microsoft (ms.info@) This is the email account I use for OEM and Partner websites and no other.

Could someone on the inside be selling MS email database?

XP Second Stage Re-Install and BANG!

An interesting, if infuriating, problem.

I have a customer's XP machine that died. By carrying out a second stage re-install I managed to get it working agian. Before re-activating it, I wanted to setup another user. I logged out, ready to login as the user I setup and on login I get a Microsoft Product Activation message saying that ''This copy of Windows must be activated with Microsoft before you can logon'. Then have the choice 'Activate Yes/No'. If you choose Yes, it gets as far as the wallpaper and then logs you out. If you say No you don't even get to see the wallpaper.

Having spent a long time trying to recover this machine I don't want to re-format. I can get into the machine in Safe Mode, but it will not allow you to activate in Safe Mode.

Anyone got a good idea?

Product Re-Activation

One thing I would love MS to do is have a Partner / OEM / Members private area where we can reactivate products instead of having to go through the telephone process which usually lasts 10 minutes.

I often replace dud parts, for example when lightening frys a modem and motherboard. If you can't get the exact make / model you get an similiar one, but its often just enough to warrant reactivation.

While the call is free, its often annoying having to explain that you have no idea how many times its been activated / installed / age of the PC etc etc because im a repair company not the end user. The best one yet was the other day we had a HP here and the call center girl was having all sorts of problems understanding that it was a preinstalled version on a brand computer. She wanted to know make / model / where is was purchased, and what was the nearest city!!!!!! Your call may be free but my time isn't

Today, we had to reactivate a PC that hadn't even got out of the door. We were near the end of a burn-in when the PSU blew and took out the Mobo & HD. We had to reactivate it (granted it wasn't exactly the same board but it was all we had in stock) however, this was only the 2nd activation. Didn't we used to have 3 chances?

I have a just installed a new PC at a clients office but from 'go' wgatray / the grey star appears each time a user logs onto the domain.

They have SBS 2000, but with limited internet - basically during work hours they have blocked internet access, however wgatray wants full internet access and is constantly popping a screen up demanding authentication.

I am unable to give any user full web access, and killing the wgatray process only lasts for a few minutes then its back with a dirty great authentication form in the middle of the screen.

Has anyone got a solution that works, googling this issue hasn't been of much help (unless I want to use hacks).

Vista Beta for SBSC?

Hi,

We are less than 6 months away from RTM of Vista, and still we know little about it.

Just like you showcased it for us in Manchester, is there any possiblilty of making the Beta available for SBSC members?, or even a demo CD of the various screen shots so that we can answer questions that we encounter.

When we offer the Win XP solution now, with SA clients can upgrade, but the small guys are being put off SA because:

a) they don't know what Vista is all about, so why buy "insurance" for the unknown benefits
b) once they have XP bedded in, they cannot be bothered with the hassle of the upgrade/change/training etc
c) we don't have the answers for them regarding what Vista will give them and how it will add value

Perhaps, as an interim, a clear & concise info sheet containing the features, benefits and some screen shots may be useful to have in our bag for when we visit clients?
