  • Re: Exchange Routing

e-mail move is slow, but not normally that slow. I would double the quota settings for each user to ensure you are not seeing issues there as this slows things sown and I would also double check the network and cpu indicators. Thanks David
  • Re: Exchange Routing

how difficult is it to reconfigure the router /firewall in a small business to enable smtp traffic outbound? I've not seen this issue, but migration puts the e-mail transmit requirement onto the SBS 2008 box if I remember correctly. Thanks David

Have a look in the add-ins - it looks like the references to the "search" tool "scout" are there. If so, look to remove them and things should be fine (or re-download scout for Office - I think it was on OfficeLabs)

Hi, normally I would consider installing the OS on some form of protected drive otherwise when (not really if) this fails, you are in a world of pain. Having said that, depending on the load, you might need more more drives in your raid array to manage throughput. Thanks David

  • Guy Kewney – a sad loss

I got my daily update from the Register today to read about the sad loss of the journalist Guy Kewney .  I met Guy on several occasions in my work with SBS 2003 and I remember his desire to understand how it impacted people and their ability to have a happy successful business.  He occasionally contacted me on IM and I particularly remember

Hi David, I have been through the process in the order in the book, although not with an external SSL certificate. Thanks for the feedback. David
