Following on from the thread of "SBS 2003 Migration to new hardware"... I spent my bank holiday performing a migration on a production machine. Needless to say a few things came up which didn't happen when I did it on my test setup! Just a suggestion.... Why dont you have both controller cards connected and boot from the original array on the original controller. Install the drivers for the new card while the machine is running and make sure Windows is happy with it. Then shutdown the machine and import the array on to the new controller and at the same time remove the original

I know I am going to get my ass kicked for this...... But one peice of advice I always give people when putting together any machine be it a server or a PC is... Intel, Intel, Intel!! Have as much Intel as possible: CPU, Mainboard, NICs. The value of intel isn't in speed etc, it is in reliability. I have known so many people with seemingly random problems
