We listen to you - changes that you have requested for Action Pack and where we are with them

People often wonder what happens to the feedback provided through the blog and the Regional Support Centers, so I thought I would give you a quick update.  Below are some things that you have asked for and the current status of them.  I know not all the answers are what you want to hear, but at least you know we are working on things

Things we have solved

Problem Answer
Business Contact Manager was not included in Action Pack Product will be included (probably from July)
Lack of 64-bit Windows Server Shipped as a special shipment and will be standard from July pack
Damaged Actions Packs and missing CDs We apologise for this and ask you to contact the regional support center for replacements.  At the moment we are not getting too many complaints about this, but will monitor
Can I have 64-bit Vista Hopefully this will be shipped in the next kit

Things still in progress (the light is closer for these items than the 2 items in the last section)

Problem Answer
Downloads for AP subscribers – when will this be generally available? We are aware of the need.  In the short term if you want downloads, please look at TechNet, which also provides you with two support calls as part of the cost
Shipment of Office OPK We are still trying to work through this
Groove in the next version of MAPS? Nothing to announce yet, but again, working on it

Things we can't fix yet, but are still trying to find a way to fix

Problem Answer
Absence of SharePoint Designer from MAPS This is not currently due to be shipped in the Action Pack
Ability of MAPS edition of Office 2007 to run on Terminal Services There is currently no Volume License software in the Action Pack and it would be a significant change to vary from this.  While we understand the issue, we can not resolve this at this time.

Groove ("in progress") and SharePoint Designer ("things we can't fix yet") already come with the Action Pack via Office 2007, so this seems little redundant!

Adrian, do you have Groove Server then?  I didn't realise you had SharePoint Designer - if you do -fixed would be the status :-)

thanks

David

David,

I stand to correct myself: SharePoint Designer actually came on the "bits and bobs" DVD in the Action Pack along with MOSS 2007, Expression Web, BCM (another one that's already fixed!) etc, rather than as part of Office 2007 - my mistake.  If anyone doesn't think this sounds familiar, it's Microsoft part # X13-38154.

In regards to the other point, you said "Groove", not "Groove Server" :-)

Regards, Ade.

I think some of us must have different Action Packs ;-) All of the items mentioned above, except 64-bit Vista, are already included on "disk 2" of Office 2007. I say "disk 2" in quotes because it isn't actually labelled as disk 2, you have to look at the small print to see what's on it. Maybe that's where the confusion is. Part no. X13-38154 EN, contains SharePoint Designer; Expression Web; Outlook 2007 with BCM; Project Pro 2007; Visio Pro 2007; SharePoint Server Enterprise. Groove of course is included in Office Enterprise 2007.

Oh, I just realised you were talking about Groove SERVER. That's missing. I thought it was in there but it's not. I must have got confused with TechNet. Sorry!

We have the action pack here and I have the Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 CD.  When I attempt to put in the MS Office Product Key for software that is on the second CD (part no. X13-38154 EN) it says I have the wrong key.  No other key came with the software so does that make the second CD useless?

I am in the same boat as Veronica above.  I can't find any Key for the 2nd Office 2007 DVD (part no. X13-38154 EN).  Can anyone tell me where the Key info for this DVD was originally located?  Are we alone in this?

Never Mind!!! - ( not quoting Rosanna Rosanna Danna, but...) I found a card that has all the keys on it for the products in question!
