What is the difference between an Outlook contact and a Business Contact Manager (BCM in Office 2007) contact

I was asked this by someone today and thought I would show you the differences

BCM Contact General Page followed by the Outlook Contact General Page:

There are lots of differences, but the big ones are:

Information Source - where did it come from, how did you get this contact and which account started it.

Classification - Is this a lead and is the person still "active".  Also who is managing this person, what their credit rating is and whether there is a payment issue

BCM Details Page followed by the Outlook Details Page:

A host of job related information and then a section for personal information about the person, plus a huge comments section.  There is also the communication preferences piece and the ability to suppress mailings (do not call, do not e-mail, do not fax, do not mail (write to on paper)).

Finally the BCM (only) History Page:

Some of this information can be automatically generated, so for example, the e-mail items can be auto generated whenever you mail, or they mail you.

David

Many thanks for the update between the two variations.  Can you allude to how you can sync between

the two folders?

We are looking at running the BCM 2007 on two pcs, and setting up a shared SQL database, however

we also use exchange for all our contacts.  On this note we are also looking at a shared folder for all

business contacts to be made avaliable to the users.  But is there a way that when a new contact

is added to the BCM 2007 contact manager, that a new contact is created in the standard outlook folders?

In others words to sync between the two folders?

Please let me know if not clear.

I have been using outlook for quite a while now & just came accross a weired issue, which I can't seem to figure out. When I send any message/s using my contact list or groups (ofcourse, it's sorted out alphabetically), i realized in the sent box message that somehow the last name on the list seems to appear first. I tried to do bunch of things but it sees like every time I send an email from my contact group list it takes the last email address/name & puts it at first place. This is not a big issue but it bothers me not to see the names in sorted order even though the names are stored out already in my contact list. FYI, I'm using both my personal & server contact list.

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible to see/view/move the "All Fields" data and view from Outlook contacts to BCM? It seems like the BCM "details" page is unable to show all of the info one would have in the zillions of default fields in Outlook contacts. Help! Thanks, Bill
