  • Re: Backup - The requested media failed to mount

Im guessing its something to do with the account ie, 'System'. I always run a backup as an administrator or an account with administrator level. Edit the scheduled task to run as an administrator or similiar and it will run. Tez

  • Re: Outlook 2003: reminders pop-up takes forever loading

I had a wonky Outlook recently. My fix was to go to control panel / mail but go to the profiles section and delete all the profiles. Then add a new profile then add a new outlook account. Hopefully it should be ok

  • Re: server non responsive - help

It sounds like a memory leak, and im guessing in Mcafee. If you have a perpetual license you can log on to their secure download area and see if there's any updates. Failing that, dump mcafee like I did and watch that server go like a rocket!!

  • Re: RWW sbs2003

You don't say if its std or premium or if you have 1 or 2 nics, but the way I set it up (usually with isa and 2 nics) is like this.. Get a Static IP. Run the internet connection wizard, and when it comes to web certificates, add the static IP address. Finish the wizard Ensure that the people you want on RWW are in the RWW security group. get them to

  • Re: Show me the money !!

Your going to spend money each year on anti-spam and AV products if you want to be 100% secure. Period. SBS2003 may help reduce spam through exchanges' SCL, but all that does is rely on other ISPs flagging the spam with a spam rating code. In its basic form all it does is send stuff it finds to the receipents junk folder. Good luck with the possible

  • NAS implimentation

I have a client who's SBS 2003 box is soon to run out of space. We can't add any more drives, and are using external drives for additional offsite backup protections so im looking at a NAS solution. Currently they use S: for general docs, and T: for technical, however they link into 50Mb+ XLS files, and when you have 30 odd people running xls formulas

Could it be the form is corrupt on that machine only? Can you import a form from another machine? Just a guess really. T

  • Re: SBS Fax services crash

The only two things I can think of is to check to see if adaptive answering is supported on the modem, perhaps turning it off, and the other is if the problem is SQL related.Perhaps the files can't be 'absorbed' into the database as well. If this was the case, can you remove any? I send all incoming and outgoing faxes to a shared folder rather than

  • Re: Far too much this time

For a product about to go to worldwide launch, im surprised to find that I have to download Beta 3 of the new active sync to allow my smartphone to update. Still not got any drivers for my 3 printers, and trying to change any still crashes the windows shell. Cannot stand the new fonts - Segoe. On my laptop they are distorted or appear faded. Slowly
